NHL defender who was selected 4th overall in the 2000 NHL Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets. He spent the first nine years of his NHL career in Columbus before a 2011 trade sent him to the Phoenix Coyotes.
He played for the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL and the Brampton Battalion of the OHL before debuting in the NHL.
He was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in 2014 but chose to return to Europe to continue his career and retire from the NHL.
He was born in Novy Jicin, Czechoslovakia.
He and winger Rick Nash were teammates in Columbus.
