2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee as a member of the band Journey who was with the group during their most commercially successful period. He was with the group from 1973 to 1985, and rejoined in 1995.
He attended Acalanes High School.
He was performed with other bands such as The Storm and the Steve Miller Band.
He was born in San Francisco, and grew up in Lafayette, California.
He and Neal Schon were two of the original members of Journey.
