Famous for setting a European record in the indoor sixty-meter sprint event, he also became the first French person to finish the 100-meter event in less than ten seconds. Earlier in his career, he had advanced to the semifinal rounds at the 2003 World Championships and the 2004 Olympics.
At the start of his career, he won silver in the one hundred-meter relay event at the World Junior Championships of 2000.
He and other members of Team France finished the 2012 Summer Olympics' 4 x 100 relay event in fourth place.
He was born in the French Caribbean department of Martinique.
He and fellow French sprinter Christophe LeMaitre both competed in the 2012 Olympic Games.
