Professional drummer best known for playing with Elvis Presley and The Jerry Garcia Band. He also played with Neil Diamond and Nancy Sinatra.
He first played with the TCB band, also known as Taking Care of Business, who toured and recorded with Elvis Presley from 1969 until his death in 1977.
He was known for his theatrical drum solos that received standing ovations from the crowd.
He died in Franklin, Tennessee. He was married to Deborah Tutt, and they had a daughter named Elisia Tutt Notermann.
He played on the breakthrough album Piano Man by Billy Joel in 1973.
