Retired major league pitcher best remembered for his days with teams like the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals. In 2014, became a scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He was a pitcher and center fielder at South Suburban College. He was originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the eighteenth round of the 1991 MLB Draft.
In 1996, he spent a season with the with the Gold Coast Cougars in the Australian Baseball League.
He married Alison Palmieri in November 1998. They have children named Madison, Mackenzie Reece, and Mason.
He and Mark Teixeira were both traded from the Rangers to Braves in 2007.
