Ron Gardenhire
Baseball Manager
Served as manager of the Minnesota Twins from 2002 to 2014 and was named manager of the Detroit Tigers in October 2017. He played in the MLB as a shortstop from 1981 to 1985 with the New York Mets.
He played college baseball at the University of Texas at Austin.
He received the 2010 AL Manager-of-the-Year Award.
He had three children: a son named Toby and daughters Tiffany and Tara.
He finished second in the Manager-of-the-Year voting for a fifth time in 2009, tying him with legendary manager Tony LaRussa in second-place finishes.
