Scottish actor who has starred as Inspector Rebus in the BBC Radio 4 dramatizations of the Ian Rankin Rebus mystery. He has also had film roles in The Jungle Book and Titanic.
He graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1979, studying English Literature and Drama .
He also had roles in the popular television series Doctor Who and Game of Thrones.
He married Fiona Biggar, and the couple has two children.
He had a small role in the 1997 film Titanic, starring Kate Winslet.
