Award-winning Malian singer known for her acclaimed albums Mouneïssa, Wanita, and several others. Though performed in the Bamana language, her albums have charted throughout Belgium and France.
She first began performing live while studying at university in Bamako.
In 2015, she was selected to join the jury of the Cannes International Film Festival.
Because her father was a diplomat, she traveled extensively in her youth, living everywhere from France to Saudi Arabia.
In 2011, she penned the music for Toni Morrison's play Desdemona based on the original play Othello by William Shakespeare.
