Singer-songwriter whose music featured a variety of genres, including Americana, alternative country, and folk.
He performed in local clubs and coffeehouses. His collaboration with Slaid Cleaves began in the second grade. He used to work as a driver of a merchandise truck.
He and Cleaves co-wrote Broke Down, which appeared on his debut album, Tiger Tom Dixon's Blues, from 2001.
He grew up with an older brother in South Berwick, Maine.
He signed with the same management company that handled Alison Krauss for whom he would provide backup.
