In 1972, he joined the college band The Beetles.
In 2006, he released Olé! Tarantula with the Venus 3, which included R.E.M.'s Peter Buck.
He had a daughter named Maisie Hitchcock.
His lyrical style was influenced by songwriter Bob Dylan.
