Roberto Roena

Salsa dancer, percussionist, and band leader who established the group Roberto Roena y Su Apollo Sound.
He began his career as a member of the first popular Puerto Rican salsa orchestra, El Gran Combo.
He performed with the Fania All Stars, an internationally popular salsa group.
He was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
He and fellow Puerto Rican singer, Gilberto Rosa, both rose to fame as salsa singers and bandleaders.
