An American television news presenter and film actor who became known for playing romantic leads in the 1940s. His 65 films include Can't Help Singing, which starred Deanna Durbin.
He attended West Point and soon began working as a film actor under Warner Brothers and Republic Pictures.
He also worked as a newscaster at KABC-TV, a local ABC affiliate in Los Angeles in the 1960s.
He got married to Betty Henning, Joanne Ludden, and Maxine Hoppe.
He and Ann Margaret both appeared in the 1963 film, Bye Bye Birdie.
