Comic book writer whose best-known works included "Invincible" and "The Walking Dead." He also worked on "Ultimate X-Men" and "Marvel Zombies" for Marvel Comics and on "Haunt" with Todd McFarlane. In 2016, his production company Skybound Entertainment announced a remake of the film An American Werewolf In London.
His first comic book, "Battle Pope," was a superhero parody. The book's success secured Kirkman an invitation to work for Image Comics' "Super Patriot" series.
He began working on "The Walking Dead" in 2003 and was hired in 2010 to work on the television adaptation of the comic book series.
His son, Peter Parker, was named after Spider Man's secret identity.
His AMC adaptation of "The Walking Dead" starred Andrew Lincoln.
