Victorian poet and playwright whose best-known works include My Last Duchess and The Pied Piper of Hamelin. His later works include Men and Women and The Ring and the Book.
He was fluent in French, Italian, and Greek by the time he was in his mid-teens.
Browning's poem "Childe Rowland to the Dark Tower Came" inspired horror writer Stephen King's novel The Dark Tower.
