Most recognized for his portrayal of the John Marston character in the Red Dead Redemption video game, he also appeared in such films as The Outside and Double Tap.
After graduating from Indiana University, he moved to Los Angeles, where he pursued a screen acting career for a time before being cast in a voice acting role in the video game Red Dead Redemption.
For his work in Red Dead Redemption, he earned a 2011 Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences award.
He and his wife Tayler Wiethoff became parents to twin sons named Clifton and Greyson.
He had a small role in the 2006 Bruce Willis film 16 Blocks.
