English striker who joined Southampton in 2009 after spending three seasons with the Bristol Rovers; became a member of the English national team in 2013.
He began his professional career at age 16 with Blackpool.
He was named the Football League Championship Player of the Year in 2012 while also winning the Football League One Golden Boot and the Football League Championship Golden Boot.
He married Amy Lambert in 2008; they had three children together.
He became teammates with Adam Lallana on Southampton in 2009.
