Australian cyclist known for his victories at events like the 2012 Volta ao Algarve and the 2013 Paris–Nice. He has been a member of the racing teams Praties and Team Saxo Bank.
He was previously a triathlete and did not devote himself fully to cycling until the age of twenty-one.
He was the leader of Team Sky for the 2014 Tour de France.
He is one of four children born to Ian and Penny Porte.
He served as the domestique for Alberto Cantador at the Giro d'Italia in 2011.
