Richard Ravitch

American politician, businessman, and Democrat who served as the 75th Lieutenant Governor of New York from 2009 to 2010. His main issue while Lieutenant Governor was to fix the state's budgeting process and nobly took just $1.00 per year as salary.
He attended Yale Law school before working for the House Government Operations Committee in Washington, D.C.
He became Lieutenant Governor and David Paterson was elevated from Lieutenant Governor to Governor following the resignation of Governor Eliot Spitzer in 2008.
He was previously married to Diane Ravitch, whom he has two children with.
He was appointed by Rudolph Giuliani to be the chancellor of the New York school system.
