English musician and songwriter who contributed to albums for many bands, including King Crimson.
He played in multiple English bands before finding a niche as a songwriter. He was a founding member of Supertramp.
He played guitars in bars for fun even after achieving fame. He provided the lyrics for Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Starless and Bible Black, and Red, three of King Crimson's albums.
He was born in Bournemouth, England, and continued to reside in his native land for much of his life.
He collaborated extensively with Robert Fripp.
