Fashion journalist known as the husband of fashion designer Tom Ford. In September 2021, he died at his home in Los Angeles after a long illness.
He was educated at the University of Maryland's Munich campus.
He wrote for Vogue Italia and New York magazine. He worked as an editor for Women's Wear Daily, Vanity Fair and Vogue Hommes.
In 2012, he and Tom Ford welcomed a son born via gestational surrogacy. He and Ford married in 2014.
In 2016, his husband directed the film Nocturnal Animals starring Amy Adams.
