Best known for his work on the television shows Babylon 5 and Days of Our Lives.
He was a high school teacher in Los Angeles before winning the role of Dr. Marcus Hunter on Days of Our Lives.
He died of complications due to aortic dissection in 2004.
He had two children, Richard James III and Hunter Lee.
He was a regular on the sci-fi series Babylon 5, created by J. Michael Straczynski.
