Ricardo Ferretti
Soccer Player
Best known for his professional soccer playing and coaching careers. He spent the vast majority of his playing career as a midfielder, and with the Mexican Pumas UNAM club. He retired in 1991, and began coaching UNAM that same year.
He made his professional debut as a player in 1971 with the Botafogo Football Club. He played with that team until 1975.
In August 2015, he was named the interim head coach for the Mexican national team. In October 2015, he won the CONCACAF Cup against the US at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
He was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
He coached Jorge Campos during his early coaching years with UNAM.
