Early in her career, she appeared in an episode of In the Heat of the Night and in the television movie A Mother's Right: The Elizabeth Morgan Story.
She graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting.
She was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina.
She portrayed former United States First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the 1992 independent movie Love Field.
