She married Matilda co-star Danny DeVito in 1982 but they later separated in 2017 after 35 years of marriage. They are parents to daughters Lucy and Grace and a son named Jacob Daniel.
She starred on the American situation comedy television series Cheers with fellow actor George Wendt.
