Puerto Rican singer for the band Calle 13 who released the hit 2006 song "Atrévete te te," which went on to win three Latin Grammys. The band is also known for their albums Residente o Visitante and Entren Los Que Quieran. In 2017, he released his first solo album titled Residεntә.
He was born Rene Perez Joglar and began his career as a reggaeton artist.
His music combines hip-hop, reggaeton, and political messages. His group Calle 13 won Grammys for Best Latin Urban Album in 2008, 2010, and 2012.
His mother is actress Flor Joglar de Gracia. He was married to Soledad Fandino from 2013 until 2018. They share a son named Mil together.
In July 2019, he released the song "Bellacoso" in collaboration with Bad Bunny.
