One of his first roles came in the acclaimed independent film Azucar Amarga in 1996.
He has been a co-host of the Latin Grammys.
He was born in Artemisa, Havana Province, Cuba and came to America as part of the Mariel Boatlift when he was 11 years old.
He appeared in the film Christmas with the Kranks starring Tim Allen.
