He began racing quarter-midgets at the age of six and won the national championship in 1997.
He won his first NASCAR Nationwide Series race at the 2005 Pepsi 300 in Nashville.
He was born in Peachtree City, Georgia.
He finished 2nd in voting behind Carl Edwards for the 2005 Busch Series Rookie of the Year Award.
