Running back considered by many to be one of the greatest college football players of all time, scoring at least one touchdown in each of his 20 games with the University of Illinois in the early 1920s.
He starred at Wheaton High School before joining Illinois's football program.
After 1934, he decided to become a sportscaster.
Was married to Margaret Hazelberg until his death in January 1991.
He and George Bernard Shaw both went to the University of Illinois.
