Former Pro Bowl defensive lineman who played 11 seasons in the NFL with the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers.
He played college football at Western Michigan.
He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945, which interrupted the prime of his football career.
He grew up with his family in Caspian, Michigan.
He played his final season with the Packers in 1951, eight years before coaching legend Vince Lombardi took over as head coach.
