Rasmus Ristolainen

Finnish defenseman who was selected by the Buffalo Sabres with the eighth overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL on opening night of that season. He has represented Finland internationally, winning gold at the 2014 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.
He played for TPS in the Finnish Elite League for three seasons, starting in 2010. He began playing for Finland the same year, competing in the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
He scored the gold medal-winning goal for Finland in the overtime period of the final of the 2014 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships against Sweden.
He was born in Turku, Finland.
In his rookie NHL season in Buffalo, he played with goaltender Matt Hackett.
