Frontman and lyricist for the groove metal bands Lamb of God and Halo of Locusts. He also sang guest vocals for bands like Gojira, Overkill and Cannabis Corpse.
He worked as a cook before joining his first band at age 24. He became a member of Burn The Priest in 1995, before the band re-named itself Lamb of God.
His sixth studio album with Lamb of God, Resolution, was released to much critical acclaim.
He married Cindy Blythe on September 10, 2005. His daughter, Sarah Fisher Blythe, passed away shortly after her birth in 2000.
He began sharing the stage with drummer Chris Adler in 1995.
