Former actor who played a supporting part in the 2004 comedy Mean Girls as Kevin Gnapoor. He later started a calligraphy business called Letters in Ink, and began designing chalkboard menus for New York restaurants.
He would copy hand-written letters from the 1800s that his parents bought him from museums at the age of 10.
He specialized in painting, sculpting and pottery at Wexford School for the Arts before attending the University of Toronto.
He was born in Toronto to Tamil immigrants.
He auditioned for the part of Pi Patel in Life of Pi after doing research in India for two years. The part would go to Suraj Sharma.
