Canadian singer and songwriter who made his debut in 2004 with the album Storyteller. However, it wasn't until his single "Angel Eyes" that he gained commercial success the following year. He has since released two more successful albums: Identity in 2009 and Phoenix in 2012.
He was fifteen when he began focusing in music, indulging in Indian traditions and R&B. By the following year, he'd written a song that was awarded by the National Songwriters Association of U.S.A. After studying in Los Angeles, he moved to England where he studied at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.
He has performed a number of songs for Indian films like Hum Tum Shabana, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Kochadaiiyaan.
Both of his parents were Hindu immigrants from India.
His 2015 single "Until the Sun Comes Up" featured an appearance by Indian actor Abhishek Bachchan and American rapper Nelly.
