Rafer Johnson
Decathlete
American Olympic decathlete who won gold in the 1960 Rome Olympics and silver in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. He later became a film actor.
Although he was the only African-American kid in town, he was voted class president in his junior and senior year.
He went to UCLA, played for the Los Angeles Rams, and was in the Olympics.
Had two children with his wife Betsy, whom he married in 1971.
John Wooden was his coach when he played at UCLA.
