In 1982, this shooting guard was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the NBA draft and was subsequently placed on the 1983 NBA All-Rookie First Team. Later in his career, he played for the Los Angeles Clippers and the Seattle SuperSonics.

Before Fame

During his college basketball career at the University of San Francisco, he scored over 1,800 points total, or more than twenty points on average in each game. Also during this period, he was a two-time West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year.

Trivia

His career was somewhat marred by controversy: he was accused of sexual assault while at the University of San Francisco, and he tested positive for drugs on two occasions while he was an NBA player.

Family Life

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, "Q" Dailey spent his later years in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died of cardiovascular disease in his late forties and was survived by a son named Quintin Dailey, Jr. (who went on to play for Eastern Michigan University's men's basketball team) and by a daughter named Quinci Dailey.
