A chess legend who was a 7-time Indian champion, as well as a physics professor and the founder of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences.
He earned his M.A. in physics in 1921 from Dhaka College.
The Bangladesh Postal Department created a stamp to honor his contributions to society.
His father was a teacher at the local village primary school.
He and Akshayraj Kore are both noted chess champions.
