He grew up being influenced by guitarist Jimi Hendrix and first joined The Naked Brothers Band in 2007.
He had a role in the HBO documentary The Music in Me.
His father is Keith Middleton who was part of the cast for the production Stomp and his mother is singer Toni Seawright who was the first African-American Miss Mississippi. He has a younger brother named Zuhri Khalil Ayele Mandara Middleton.
Like him, David Levi also gained fame for his appearances on The Naked Brothers Band.
