He grew up with an enviable intelligence and was practicing meditation from a very early age. According to his family, he received no education of any kind, not through school, books, or one-on-one instruction.
He was barred from entering the USA during his life.
He was born during a full moon in Jamalpur.
He and Bikram Choudhury were both huge proponents of the practice of yoga.
