Servant house-elf who worked for the Malfoy residence in the Harry Potter novels and films. He made his debut in the 1998 bestselling novel Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. He became a mainstay in the following books, and an overall fan favorite.

Trivia

In order to be released from servitude the series protagonist, Harry Potter, tricked Dobby's master, Lucius Malfoy, into gifting the elf a used sock.
