Wookiee also known as Chewie who is the loyal friend and first mate of Han Solo. He served as Solo's co-pilot on the spaceship the Millennium Falcon. 

Trivia

George Lucas' inspiration for the character was seeing his own dog sitting up on the passenger seat of his car. Stuart Freeborn and his wife Kay Freeborn created the original costume. He was one of the few fictional characters to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the MTV Movie Awards.
