Fictional character acting as the main protagonist of Nintendo's long-running Pokémon anime. On his tenth birthday he sets out on a quest to become the greatest Pokemon trainer in the world. Along the way he forges friendships with his Pikachu companion, as well as, a team of pocket monsters and other trainers. 

Trivia

He made his first appearance in the 1997 episode 'Pokémon, I Choose You!' during the anime's Indigo League arc. He was the main character in the original Pokemon Gameboy games Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow.
