He first began performing as a singer in 2009, making his debut on Deutschland sucht den Superstar in 2011.
His debut single "Call My Name" peaked at #1 on the Germany, Austrian, and Swiss charts.
His father is from Italy and his mother from Germany. He married Deutschland sucht den Superstar costar Sarah Engels in 2013. Thereafter, the pair formed the musical duo Sarah & Pietro.
While competing on the eighth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, he was judged by Dieter Bohlen and Patrick Nuo.
