Professional pitcher that was drafted by the San Diego Padres during the 20th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He was acquired by the Houston Astros via trade in July 2021.
Prior to being drafted, he attended the University of Louisiana Tech where he made history breaking the team's record for career innings pitched, while also finishing second all-time in school history with 324 career strikeouts.
He made his major league debut pitching against the Kansas City Royals on June 11, 2017 as a member of the Padres.
He grew up in Chatham, Illinois with his parents, Phil and Ellen, and his three brothers.
He was once packaged in a trade that included Myles Straw.
