Lithuanian author who wrote several novels, children's books, and short story collections. His notable works include Frank Kruk, The Artisan and His Sons, and Seeds of Fraternity.
He started publishing poetry in the mid-1920s and subsequently studied literature in Paris.
His writing is known for its social commentary, sharp wit, and believable dialogue.
He was raised in Klangai, Lithuania. He died at the age of thirty-eight in Vilnius.
He and Czeslaw Milosz were both Lithuanian-born writers.
