Petko Staynov
Composer
A pioneer in Bulgarian musical composition and piano performances. He was known for his "Thracian Dances" suites.
He was blind by the age of 11 and went on to graduate from the Institute for the Blind in Sofia.
He held many offices, including the Regular Member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
His family was residing in Sofia when he was born, and they raised him there.
He and Pancho Vladigerov both became known for their contributions to the music of Bulgaria.
