Peter Godwin
Non-Fiction Author
An author, journalist, and screenwriter, he is known for such nonfiction works as The Fear: Robert Mugabe and the Martyrdom of Zimbabwe and When a Crocodile Eats the Sun. His acclaimed 1997 memoir, Mukiwa: A White Boy in Africa, describes his early experience of the Rhodesian Bush War.
He studied at both Cambridge and Oxford, focusing on international relations and law.
He fought in the Rhodesian Bush War when he was seventeen years old.
He married Joanna Coles in 2001 and he has two sons.
He and Alan Cheuse have both been featured on National Public Radio.
