Peter Brook
Playwright
Known for writing plays like The Mahabharata and Tierno Bokar, he co-founded the International Centre for Theatre Research.
He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford and produced his first play, Dr. Faustus, in 1943.
He won Tony Awards for Best Direction of a Play for 1966's Marat/Sade and 1971's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
He married actress Natasha Parry in 1951.
He directed acclaimed adaptations of the plays of William Shakespeare, such as Hamlet, The Tempest, and King Lear.
