Pete Jacobsen
Pianist
Blind jazz artist known as the longstanding accompanist of Scottish tenor saxophonist Bobby Wellins.
He was a student at London's Worcester School for the Blind and later at the Royal Academy of Music.
His solo recitals were well-remembered, especially the ones at Sherborne Jazz Festival and Brighton Jazz Club.
His family never hindered his musical pursuits because of his condition, and he started his piano studies when he was still small.
His first foray as a professional was accompanist to saxophonist Barbara Thompson.
