Pedro Almodóvar

Illustrious director who received an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for his 1999 film All About My Mother and an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for his 2002 film Talk to Her. He initially gained recognition for his 1988 film Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.
He directed his first feature, Pepi, Luci, Bom, in 1980.
In 1986, he co-founded the production company El Deseo with his younger brother Augustin.
He was one of four children born to parents Antonio Almodovar and Francisca Caballero.
His 2002 film Talk to Her starred Penelope Cruz.
