Six-time Grammy Award nominee who has recorded more than thirty albums, including Sun Singer in 1983 and Solstice Live! ten years later.
While at Northwestern University his band, the Paul Winter Sextet, was signed to Columbia Records.
He was given the Courage of Conscience Award.
He has been married with two children.
One of his albums with The Consort was produced by George Martin.
